Avoid These Two Words, They Are Embarrassing

I have always wondered if there is someone on this planet who doesn't make mistakes but I found non. In English language, if you are not a native speaker, you may not be able to analyze the lexicons of the language and defend some grammar. The way out is to keep learning.

English grammar is wide and and as such L2 speaker of English is bound to make grammatical mistake.

This article brings to your notice the difference between 'Migrate' and 'emigrate'

"Emigrate" and "from" always go together, as do "immigrate" and "to." To emigrate is to come from somewhere, and to immigrate is to go to somewhere. "Colin emigrated from Ireland to the United States" means the same as "Colin immigrated to the United States from Ireland."

However the use must be carefully looked into because they may sound confusing, but you just need to know the preposition to use for each one word.

The following sentences are wrong:

1. She has emigrated to London.

2. Alex emigrated from Mali.

Correction

1. She emigrated from London.

2. Alex immigrated to Mali.
